Custom Mountain Themed Letterpress Invitations

I always enjoy a custom made wedding invitation design!

Angela approached me and requested a custom designed mountain themed letterpress invitation based on the photograph above (top photo). She wanted a simple hand drawn invitation design. Her save the dates (not shown) featured the same mountain themed illustration in white on an all chocolate brown background. Next, I’ll upload the art to my zazzle.com account so she can enjoy the hand drawn mountain illustration on her stamps also.

Yellow + Green a Summer Dream

When I found this photo of a little girl holding on to a sunflower parasol I just had to share. I thought Yellow + Green a Summer Dream! All of the lovely photos are by Verité© Photography. This wedding is a perfect example on how to feature sunflowers without going sunflower crazy. Note how the yellows and greens vary, as they do in nature. Soft and dreamy, perfect for your spring or summer wedding! Carefree, no worries. Just enjoy!

Green + Blue 2011 Spring / Summer Wedding Ideas

I was delighted to find this perfect example of amazon green and agate blue for a lovely spring / summer 2011 wedding! All photos other than the hydrangea invitations were all taken by Kristin Vining Photography. Aren’t they amazing? I am LOVING the mocha taupe suit!

Remember all of your wedding colors do not have to match my examples shown exactly. Colors will vary during your search for dresses and flowers. I do not know the maker of the dresses or suit in these photos.

Have fun and best wishes for a colorful and creative wedding day!

We are delighted to unveil our newest creations! Letterpress + Hand Painted Invitation Designs by James and Michelle Mospens. Letterpress printing by James and hand drawn artwork by Michelle.

Several years ago Michelle was asked by a client to create her flip flop watercolor invitations with letterpress printing. Since that day Michelle was on the search for THE perfect letterpress printer in the USA. After much dismay… they decided to buy their very own Heidelberg Letterpress Press. James and Michelle can now produce the most exceptional quality letterpress invitations they have seen.

“Our clients expect luxe, high quality and exceptional designs featuring one-of-a-kind artwork. We are happy to deliver and are certain you will LOVE this collection as much as we do. Enjoy! xoxo” ~ Michelle Mospens

2011 Wedding Color Trends ~ Part Two

PART TWO … 2011 Wedding Color Trends ~ If you found me, Michelle Mospens, quoted in a magazine regarding wedding color trends / combination, then you know I dedicate loads of my spare time researching wedding color trends a year in advance. Since 2001, I’ve been helping brides with their wedding color decisions by displaying color trend swatches and ideas on my website.

I was TRULY delighted with this second batch of color for 2011 weddings! The 2011 year in color will not only be BRIGHT and amazing {see 2011 Wedding Colors Part One} it will also be vintage, earthy and sunwashed. Gray was HOT now MOCHA will return to the top favorites! Along with orange and many shades of green!

Other colors making their come back for 2011… dark chocolate, dark charcoal gray, sangria/brick red, myrtle (dark) green, dark tangerine, dark chestnut, asparagus, tyrian purple, dark midnight green, deep blue, persian green, mocha taupe, agate blue, amazon green, scallop shell, moccasin, olivine green, khaki, carrot orange, oyster gray, gray taupe, and antique white.

As you can see most of these colors look as if they are faded by the sun. Totally opposite of Part One wedding colors 2011.

What is your favorite color combo in this palette? A few of my favorite color combos using this palette are: tyrian purple and gray taupe ~ mocha taupe and agate blue ~ mocha taupe and carrot orange ~ dark chocolate and olivine green.

Enjoy!

Turtle Note Cards Make a Difference!

I was deeply saddened by BP’s Oil Drilling Disaster, as I am sure most of you are also. I asked myself, how can I help? I wanted to create a note card that you can use while proceeds would help a much needed cause at this time in our lives. After reading that many species of turtles are and will be effected by this disaster, I knew my original turtle artwork printed on 100% recycled natural white coverstock would be the perfect choice for these note cards. I have chosen the “Gulf Restoration Network” to receive 50% of each note card sale. Please if you care and want to help, order my TURTLE NOTE CARDS today. I can not wait to see how much we can raise. Thank you for your consideration.

Be well my friends.

Love, Michelle Mospens xoxoxo

Gray and Pink Wedding Inspiration! Fresh and fun.

Gray seems to be the it color! Mocha will be back in 2011! Add a splash of another color like pink to gray and wahlahh! You have fun colorful elegance!

Navy, Royal Blue, Blue Violet, and a Dash of Yellow!

I have to say, I didn’t think a Navy, Blue and Yellow wedding could look this elegant! While creating this inspiration board… I mixed and matched and found what I think is the perfect combo of colors for you.

Remember, when planning your wedding color scheme, you do not have to overboard. Navy doesn’t have to be just navy. You can feature navy, royal and a blue violet! A splash of “navy” here and there with a tiny dash of yellow is just right!

Perfect for a spring, summer, fall or winter wedding!

Have fun!

xoxo

For summer weddings there are many bright and lovely colors to choose from! Why limit yourself? Here I show you have to pull off FIVE wedding colors. It’s all about balance.

Elegant Light Aqua Blue and Gold Wedding Colors

After my sweet friend Jennifer, a fabulous calligrapher, posted jewel inspired wedding cakes from Martha Stewart Weddings … I was inspired.

The light aqua blue and gold caught my eye! Regal, modern and elegant!!!

So, I whipped up a monogramed invitation with a hand drawn crown. Found the best pair of gold shoes and the most beautiful gold floral wedding bouquet I could find. And the dress. Isn’t it just amazing?

Enjoy this beautiful inspiration for your spring or summer wedding! oxox

Pale Pink + Black Anemone Themed Wedding

Pink and black are proving to be a popular color choice by our blog readers. So I just had to update, share and build this Anemone Flower Inspiration board. Paired with ivory this blush pink and black color palette is perfect for your spring, summer, fall or winter wedding I think!

Kristen wanted a custom invitation for her wedding featuring Anemone flowers. This flower is ADORABLE. Anemone means “WIND” in Greek. And is known as the “WIND FLOWER” as they thought the wind caused it to bloom. Soooo Sweet. Don’t you think?

Kristen’s custom invitations with anemone flowers is elegant, simple and vintage. Light tan metallic coverstock, layered w/ black coverstock and thick white coverstock. Kristen upgraded to raised ink and had me hand paint each anemone flower in pale pink / blush watercolor! So soft and inviting!

I have been designing wedding invitations for 12 years. I normally illustrate VERY large blooms. I must say this simple flower stole my heart. xo
