Hand painted wedding maps are truly a creative way to share directions with your guests.

Following are directions regarding the DIY hand painted map instructions.

SUPPLIES NEEDED
Pencil
Eraser
Watercolor paper
Watercolor paints
Paint brush
A large bowl or measuring cup of water
Sharpie® fine point black marker
Scanner
Printer
Computer
Photo editing program
White cardstock 80lb or thicker

STEP 1
Find an actual map of the area you want illustrated. Decide what streets and details you want illustrated on the map.
Sketch in the details with your pencil. Or use tracing paper if you’re not feeling confident in your sketching. Scan in this art.

STEP 2
Print art very lightly on actual watercolor paper. You should barely see your pencil sketch. Watercolor paint all details. Add finishing touches with your black fine point marker. Add your “artist” signature.

STEP 3
Scan in art. Add all wording. If you can’t draw your characters (whale, etc) you may be able to find high quality (300 dpi) clip art drawings online. Save art at 300 dpi.

STEP 4
Print. Enjoy!!!

Well, the time has come! Pantone® recently announced their 2012 color report for Spring!!! What do you think? I just love the palette. Fun, modern, and refreshing! Cabaret is my favorite of course. Which color is your favorite?

Choosing the best purple wedding color combos is a piece of cake. Research pinterest, google images, and more for ideas. Sample cloth swatches in hand and compare purple with other colors you love. When adding a third color stick with a neutral color like gray, taupe, gold, silver, black or white to keep the color combo elegant. Or add a lighter hue of one of the two colors for the third color. My favorite combo is purple, pink, and lilac / lavender! Splashes of natural green are also lovely as shown in this wedding bouquet.

5 CREATIVE AND ROMANTIC DECOR IDEAS FOR OUTDOOR WEDDINGS

1. Hang lanterns or chandeliers in trees to create height and a visually stunning canopy

2. Bring the indoors out. Lay a carpet on the grass. Bring a couch outside for seating.

3. Decorate your table with loads of flowers. Either traditional roses or several wildflowers in separate glass vases.

4. Hang mirrors to create the look of walls.

5. Use doors or door frames to create separation of the wedding and eating areas.

I have to say. I LOVE this time of year. It’s the end of August here in Ohio. The sky is still blue, grass is green, and the hydrangeas are still in bloom. Hot days and cool nights. LOVVVE!

Taking the colors from nature, a perfect wedding color palette has emerged. Fresh green, pistachio green, lightest yellow green, burlap brown, red raspberry, and plump purple.

I have been collecting my favorite VINTAGE ELEGANCE wedding ideas on pinterest for over a month now. With news of Kate Moss marrying and after seeing the photos on Vogue, it was time to share!

After seeing this inspiration I just could NOT help myself and had to design an invitation to match this vintage chic fall hydrangea theme.

Invitation ingredients: Antique gold metallic, matte citron green, and thick white cardstocks, hydrangea watercolor in greens and red violet tips, red violet / raspberry ink.
