Send the Scene! What a unique way to invite your guests to your wedding. I have painted venues for wedding couples and where they will marry. My clients preferred the art be watercolor and large! Here you will find two examples. The art is printed at 5.5″h x 7.75″w then glued by hand to a colorful card to match their wedding colors. On the back is another card printed with the invitation text. That makes this card a hefty 3 layers. The art is a true keepsake for all guests to save forever.

I TRULY enjoyed working with Sarah (who is a designer) on her custom nautical wedding invitations, save the date cards, table cards, place cards, and thank yous! Love the fact that she used Pantone® Spring 2013 colors MONACO BLUE and POPPY RED in her unique design! First, I hand-painted a row boat in watercolor for her wedding invitations. Printed on thick 110lb. white cardstock and layered in sapphire metallic and jupiter red metallic sparkling cardstocks. Each invite was wrapped with a hand-tied wraphia ribbon around the center adorned with a handmade tag reading: “Live, Love, Sail.”
The font SATISFACTION was a perfect match for the overall nautical sea-worthy design. Sarah and George are avid sailors and wanted each table card to be named after a boat they have sailed! Adorable idea.
Each place card boasted a custom designed anchor logo, hearts, guest names, food choices, and table name. All organized and fit perfectly!
Now that Sarah’s custom design is complete it will find a home in our Signature Collection Wedding Invitations gallery.

An Elegant Beach Wedding? Absolutely! I have to say this destination wedding in Florida tops the charts of my MOST favorite beach weddings EVERRR! Today I was pleasantly surprised to receive a link to one of our client’s beach wedding photos!!!! I am still blown away by the attention to detail and elegance in this tropical wedding!
A HUGE HUGE HUGE thank you is in order to Bob Care Photography for allowing me to share my client’s photos with you. I had a hard time choosing the best to share! I just may have to do another post or two to share them all with you!!!
I personally worked with the mother-of-the-bride and the bride-to-be on her custom beach wedding stationery. My Personal Artist created the wedding invitations, accommodation cards, estate address and wedding website cards, reply cards, wedding menus personalized with each guest name, place cards with the Florida Keys in watercolor and printed with each guest name, table cards with each Florida Key, and thank you cards. All wedding stationery boasted tropical beach themed artwork in watercolor. The pocket folder was great for this destination and kept all stationery perfectly organized. I created the idea that a starfish would MARK the Florida Key where the guest would be seated on the place cards. These place card tags were attached to miniature bottles of Tequila. The table cards then coordinated with the Florida Key on the seating cards. As you can see I hand-painted the two palm trees {the couple is standing under in the first photo} for the stationery.
I truly love this wedding and the elegance achieved! Hats off to all involved.

After receiving several requests for butterfly wedding invitations, I felt the NEED to find the perfect butterfly wedding ideas for an ELEGANT butterfly garden theme. After much searching I finally found the perfect butterfly favors, wedding cake with butterflies, butterfly bouquet, and wedding attire to match the beautiful theme. I love the idea of an orange bridesmaid dress because of the vibrant orange wings of a monarch. Splashes of lilac and crisp black pull the look together. Other fun wedding colors for a butterfly theme wedding are bright cobalt blue and bright pink!

Inspired by a wedding cake! Again. Yes. I am guilty. When my client emailed me a pic of this wedding cake as one of her inspirational wedding photos, I creatively lost it. The royal purple POPS. Paired with silver. I LOVE! And anemone flowers? They are oh so sweet. This cake was screaming for me to design an invite to match. So I did. Every SINGLE time I pop over to Pinterest, I find this GORGEOUS GOODNESS of a wedding cake by the amazingly talented Erica Obrien! I finally emailed her to ask permission to share this lovely with YOU. She said YES! I am over the moon thrilled to present it to you.
Erica Obrien’s cake design boasts my MOST favorite pastel and elegant metallic gold colors. I have to say, this is THE most lovely cake I have set my artistic eyes on. Simply beautiful. The color palette is AMAZING and I would HIGHLY recommend these colors for a wedding ANY time of year! So much cheer and so much fun. This color combination is just fabulous!

Today a client asked that I design a luggage tag for her save the date cards. I found these OLD photos, dusted them off and posted here to view. I created these TREND-SETTING luggage tag cards almost 10 years ago. Still so cute. And oh-so-versatile!

I don’t normally share all of my clients invitations or inspiration / color mood boards, however this tropical blend was so gorgeous not to share! As you can see, at My Personal Artist we have a lovely array of colors and options for tropical invites! The combination of colors are truly endless.

This post was created for Sheila (a lovely stylish bride-to-be) to view the color cardstock options available for her tropical wedding invitations folders. I call this mix of tropical colors TROPICAL BLEND. I find this color combo to be softer than normal pop of hot pink hues tropical blends. Botanical and earthy with a splash of sea. So very beautiful!
UPDATE: Sheila’s custom tropical wedding invitations design. (Private details changed for publishing purposes.) I hand-painted the heliconia in watercolor. Turquoise Blue and Mango orange married with bright white thick cardstocks. Perfectly tropical!
Shown above is the actual Tropical Blue matte finish pocketfolder with Orange Flame metallic cardstock (I do not have the ‘Mango Orange’ in my hands at the moment) with Baby Maize Yellow + Orange Cream ribbons. Now my mouth is watering. Yummy tropical colors!

Modern beach wedding save the date cards featuring broad watercolor brushstrokes perfect for a tropical destination wedding!
You may have heard this before… We loved the watercolor trend so very much that we did it OVER 10 years ago! Recently, when Carson asked me to create a watercolor save the date card for her daughter’s wedding in the Bahamas I was in LOVE! Of course I took on the “challenge.” Why in quotes? It was my job as a designer and artist to take this ‘current trend’ and modernize the look, give it a twist to make it mine. Well the watercolor technique is HOT again this year and continuing to be hot for 2013. In 2004, one of the first watercolor wedding invitations I did was similar. I know, right? That was a WHOLE decade ago. Well, I guess like fashion trends, wedding invitation trends come back! So much fun and quite lovely if I may say so myself.

The paint flows perfectly like the seashore kissing the sand. These wedding save the dates will make a splash!
Blue watercolor paint is also a perfect choice for a destination wedding at the beach or tropical venue. Now that the watercolor is created, I can easily change the color to green, aqua blue, mint, fandango pink, red, khaki brown, beet red, purple, and more!

With our many font choices, one is sure to meet your unique style. We use smooth white or buttercream cards and envelopes for our thank you cards.
Note to new wedding couples, be sure to order thank you cards before all of your wedding events. This way you are ready to write the thank yous as you receive gifts. If not, no worries, most people are just delighted you mail them a thank you at the latest 1 month later. Most do understand you are a very busy couple and writing hundreds of heart felt thank you notes take dedication and time.

TGIF! I just finished up Art Nouveau Engagement Party Invitations with hand-painted brewery beer taps watercolor artwork for Katelyn and Nicholas. What a creative couple and joy they are to work with! They will have their engagement party at Ladyface Ale Companie. So hand-illustrating an Art Nouveau border and finding the perfect yet elegant Art Nouveau font was the perfect recipe to brew up this custom design.
